Cheese Consumption Doubles in 40-year Period

Despite the growing plant-based dairy movement, per capita consumption of animal-based cheese has more than doubled in the 40-year period from 1978 to 2018, reports Food Business News. New forms, varieties, and uses are responsible for most of the growth.

Though while cheese sales are growing, both fluid milk and yogurt sales have been declining, due to increased competition from plant-based brands and a greater variety of high protein food in the marketplace. Full Story
